When she fell asleep on Jack’s shoulder in front of the fire.

When he comforted Elizabeth, said “I love you, Elizabeth Thatcher”, and kissed her when they were in the mining cave.

When Elizabeth told him that she would never change who he was, he told her that hearing her say that meant the world to him.

When he bought an engagement ring so he could propose to her.

(Sometimes he would be there even when she told him she was teaching.)

When he came to the schoolhouse just to take a picture of her and the students, fix a window, and talk to Elizabeth.

Harper’s ranch because he knew she needed the help and was too proud to admit it.

When he got into an argument over Elizabeth with Charles (and everyone knew that Jack was right).Jack said no, because he wasn’t changing who he was for anyone, not even Elizabeth, even though he cared very deeply for her. Thatcher was actually telling Jack that the only way he would be good enough for Elizabeth was if he moved to Hamilton, took a job in a respected family’s company, and changed his entire self to, basically, be more like Charles, Elizabeth’s childhood friend. Here are some of the reasons I believe they’re perfect for each other, and truly love each other: They’ve danced together, they’ve saved the day together, and they’ve kissed a number of times while helping each other out and saying romantic things to one another. Even still, they both care deeply for one another, and I love them together. He’s a Mountie who grew up on a ranch, she’s a school teacher from a wealthy family in the rich town of Hamilton She doesn’t know the first thing about living in the small town of Hope Valley (previously Coal Valley), and he doesn’t fit in at her hometown of Hamilton, where her family is respected, wealthy, and her parents only approve of men from similar families. In When Calls the Heart, my favorite couple is Constable Jack Thornton and Elizabeth Thatcher.
